Shaz' holiday health scare

A heartwarming holiday story for this sweet girl!

Shaz visited us on the Wednesday before Christmas to check a pesky lump on her leg that was causing mobility issues. After a consultation with Dr Mark confirming the lump was safe to remove, Shaz was scheduled for a lumpectomy the very next day.

Being 19 years young, however, Shaz is at an increased risk of complications when going under anesthesia. For Shaz's safety and her family's peace-of-mind, Dr Kiri recommended a round of comprehensive blood work to make sure she could safely be placed under anesthetic.

Shaz thankfully passed the tests with flying colours and the lump was quickly removed! After a short recovery period the brave and beautiful Shaz was moving around much more comfortably, and was able to fully enjoy another Christmas with her humans.

Lumps and bumps become more common in pets as they age, and should always be investigated by a veterinary professional. Causes can range from benign growths to cysts or even cancers, and can cause reduced mobility or increased health risks. If you've noticed any skin concerns or changes in your pet please give us a call on (02) 6977 1451 to investigate the issue.
