An amazing Wedgetail wildlife patient!

Check out that wingspan!

Our team had the privilege to treat this gorgeous 8-year-old Wedgetail Eagle who was brought in by a kind-hearted member of the public. It was suspected he'd been hit by a car and urgent assessment was needed. After performing radiographs Dr. Kiri determined there were no obvious injuries other than some minor grazes, and he was placed into the care of our lovely WIRES carer, Shelly.

Roadside wildlife deaths can be a scary self-sustaining cycle. Dead animals by the roadside can attract birds and other animals to feed from, unknowingly turning themselves into targets for road accidents. As the humans behind the wheel, the responsibility is on us to be safer drivers. Being vigilant while driving, checking the roadside and slowing down in wildlife zones could prevent a collision and protect both yourself and local animals from serious harm.
